Rob Kinderman

Co-Founder/CIO


Rob Kinderman spent 25 years building the credit business at Ellington Management. He most recently served as Vice Chairman and Co-Head of Credit Strategies, where he oversaw structured and asset-based credit investments spanning both loans and securities, and including residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, consumer debt, CLOs, transportation, and esoteric ABS. Rob began his career building mortgage default models but was quickly thrust into portfolio management in the LTCM liquidity crisis of October 1998. He has since managed credit portfolios through the GFC in 2008, the 2011 European debt crisis, the 2016 energy downturn, COVID, and the 2022 Fed tightening. Rob earned a B.A. from Yale in 1998 with distinction in Economics and in Mathematics. Rob is a Trustee at the Nightingale Bamford School and is a member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Partners at Yale University.

Randy Takian

Randy Takian has 25+ years experience in consumer and corporate credit, business building, and managing complex organizations. Randy most recently led BAML’s Wealth Banking & Lending business with a $200B+ credit portfolio and annual originations over $30B, all within the confines of RWA. Previously, he launched and managed the performing, stressed and public funds business at Avenue Capital, managed the bank loan business at MSIM, and made GP investments at hedge funds, among other responsibilities. Randy started his career in corporate strategy and development at Bank of America. Randy earned a B.A. from Brown in 1996 in Economics and International Relations. Randy is a Trustee at the Nightingale Bamford School, a Trustee of the Abrdn Credit Fund, and on the Advisory Council for the Center for Middle East Studies at Brown University.
